- I purchased the dog originally named Cinder, now name Koda Bear. I have only had the puppy for less than a week. I was attracted to the Bartellhaus dogs because as I studied characteristics of the puppies, I come to the conclusion that Bartellhaus dogs are very intelligent.
Little did I know that Koda Bear is an example of a very intelligent Bartellhaus dog
In only the short time I’ve had him, he knows what “no” means, he knows his name, he know the command “come”. Koda is with me almost 24/7. I am a handicapped Vietnam veteran. I use a wheelchair and electric scooter. Koda quickly learned what the command “watch out” means.
Finally I installed a doggy door which allows Koda to freely come and go to my fenced in back yard. Koda figured out how the doggy door worked in about 2 minutes. I really didn’t have to show him anything.
I plan on getting him trained to earn a service dog certificate. A service dog requires a very intelligent dog with an ability to quickly learn many tasks. Koda Bear will be my service dog.
I’m thankful to find such a quality breeder such as the Bartells. Everything from the paperwork to advice was top notch. If you’re thinking you want a very intelligent purebred, the Bartells have one for you.
